The purpose of mastering the discipline: to familiarize with the most common diseases of the genitourinary system, issues of etiology and pathogenesis, methods of diagnosis, prevention and treatment of urological diseases

Objectives of the discipline: training in clinical symptomatology of urological diseases; training in modern methods of diagnosis of these diseases; training in basic special and modern methods of treatment of urological patients; mastering basic practical skills necessary for the examination and supervision of urological patients; mastering issues of medical and labor expertise, prevention and therapeutic measures in urological patients.

Urology is closely related to other disciplines: human anatomy (knowledge formed as part of the curriculum), topographic anatomy (knowledge formed as part of the curriculum), surgery (topic: acute inflammatory diseases of the abdominal cavity and their differential diagnosis with renal colic and suppurative processes in the retroperitoneal space).    

Content of the discipline: Anomalies of the urinary system - anomalies of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, penis, scrotum. Diagnostic and treatment methods; 

Injuries to the organs of the urinary system are closed and open kidney injuries. Pathogenesis, classification, symptomatology, diagnosis. Treatment: conservative and operative. Indications. Late complications. Trauma of the ureters. Pathogenesis, symptomatology, diagnosis, treatment. Complications. Closed and open bladder injuries, classification. Intraperitoneal and extraperitoneal ruptures of the bladder. Symptomatology, diagnosis, and treatment. The mechanism of injury of the urethra. Classification, diagnosis, indications for primary urethral suture. Stricture of the urethra. Injury to the organs of the scrotum and penis; 

Urolithiasis is the frequency of urolithiasis.   Risk factors, etiology and pathogenesis. hemical composition of stones. Kidney and ureter stones.   Symptomatology, renal colic, differential diagnosis. X-ray diagnostics. Indications and contraindications for conservative treatment. distant shck wave lithotripsy. Endoscopic lithotripsy. Indications and contraindications. Features of the postoperative period. Surgical treatment of kidney and ureter stones. Stones of the bladder, urethra, prostate gland; 

Neoplasms of the urinary system (tumors of the kidneys, bladder) - etiology, pathogenesis, occupational tumors of the bladder. International classification.   Symptomatology, clinical course, diagnosis of bladder tumors. Treatment: surgical, radiation, chemotherapy, combined. Enterocystoplasty. An artificial bladder. Indications and contraindications to various methods of urine excretion. Medical examination of patients with neoplasms of the bladder, an artificial bladder. Kidney tumors. Etiology and pathogenesis. Classification, diagnosis, and differentiation of kidney tumors with polycystic kidney disease, hydronephrosis, and tuberculosis of the kidneys. Treatment: surgical, radiological, chemotherapy. 

BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) and prostate cancer - etiology, pathogenesis of prostate adenoma. Stages of the disease, clinical course. Diagnosis and differential diagnosis of BPH, surgical treatment. Modern medical treatment of BPH. Hyperthermia and thermotherapy in the treatment of BPH. Follow-up of patients with prostate adenoma. Etiology and pathogenesis of prostate cancer. Clinic, diagnosis, and treatment. 

Symptomatology of urological diseases with patient supervision; X-ray diagnostics and radioisotope research methods in urology; Nonspecific and specific inflammatory diseases of the genitourinary system; Urolithiasis. Hydronephrosis; Neoplasms of the genitourinary system; Acute and chronic renal failure (acute renal failure, CRF). Nephrogenic hypertension; Emergency conditions in urology, outpatient urology. 

Cycle classes are held at the urology clinic according to the schedule.

Practical training during 6 days for 5 hours. Beginning at 13 p.m

Uniform: clean white medical suits, cap, stethoscope, second shoes (not shoe covers) required.

The lecture course is held in a distance format and is a mandatory module for obtaining a credit in the discipline. Missed lectures are worked out in the form of an abstract and an interview with the lecturer in full-time format according to the schedule of work sessions.
