The solemn meeting of the Academic Council of the Kazan State Medical University took place on May 13,2022.
Academicians and professors, associate professors and assistants, teachers, students and residents, graduate students, and, of course, highly respected veterans were invited to the solemn meeting of the Academic Council dedicated to the 208th anniversary of Kazan State Medical University. Rector, Professor A. S. Sozinov opened the Solemn meeting of the Academic Council, noting that the 208th year of history has become a year of significant events and achievements for KSMU and has opened new prospects.
Within the framework of the federal program Priority - 2030, a Program for the development of the university until 2030 was developed, supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. Kazan State Medical University has become a candidate for participation in the "Priority 2030 Program". As part of the program, the university received co-financing from the Republic of Tatarstan, which made it possible to retrofit collective use centers, on the basis of which new youth laboratories will be created. In the focus of the priorities of the development program, the contours of the creation of a digital department have been defined, a state contract has been signed for the modernization of the educational program in the specialty "Medical and preventive Care", digital platforms are being introduced, employees are being trained. Alexey Stanislavovich stressed that the implementation of the development program will allow the university to provide a significant contribution to the achievement of national development goals of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tatarstan, to increase scientific, educational, technological and innovative potential.
The success of Kazan State Medical University is the accumulated effect of all types of activities, the result of traditions, high professionalism, selfless work of our employees, conscientious study and active life position of students. The rector expressed special words of gratitude to the veterans who have preserved and passed on the best traditions of the Kazan Medical School.
The University continues to hold leading positions in the rankings. According to the results of the national aggregated rating - 2022, Kazan Medical University entered the 1st league (Top 100) and took the honorable second place among 46 medical universities of the Russian Federation and 22 universities of the Republic of Tatarstan. In 2021, our university entered the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking , taking 801-1000 place, and in 2022 we took the 25th place among universities in the world in this ranking for the goal of "Good health and well-being". This is the 1st place among 94 Russian universities that took part in the ranking.
The university staff continued their active scientific activity. Scientists of the university have published 2212 scientific papers over the past year. The University has held 97 conferences and symposiums at the international, All-Russian and republican levels, with over 15,000 participants..
A team of authors led by the head of the Hospital Therapy Department , Professor D.I. Abdulganieva was awarded a grant from the President of the Russian Federation for state support of leading scientific schools of the Russian Federation.
The winner of the prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology was the head of the Department of Surgical Diseases, Professor D.M. Krasilnikov.
The team led by the head of the Department of Hospital Pediatrics, Professor D.I. Sadykova was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Head of the Department of Normal Physiology, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.L. Zefirov and Head of the Department of Pediatric Infections, Professor V.A. Anokhin won the National Award "Professor of the Year 2021".
The head of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Professor V.I. Danilov, was awarded the medal of the Association of Neurosurgeons of Russia "For loyalty to Neurosurgery".
According to the results of the 2021-2022 academic year, 20 patents for inventions, 10 patents for utility models, 4 certificates for a computer program, 12 certificates for a database were obtained. As a result, Kazan State Medical University in the framework of the All-Russian competition "For contribution to the development of intellectual property" took second place in the country. To train personnel in the field of protection and commercialization of the results of intellectual activity, the University received a grant from the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia in the amount of more than 9 million rubles. This gives us confidence that the work on the creation of new products and technologies, their commercialization, planned in our development program, will be successfully implemented.
The university staff successfully defended their doctoral dissertations:
-Habibrakhmanova Olga Arkadyevna – Associate Professor of the Department of History, Philosophy and Sociology;
-Svetlana V. Kuzmina – Associate Professor of the Department of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology.
14 employees defended their PhD theses.
Kazan State Medical University in 2021, as well as throughout its history, lives in the same rhythm with the republican health care system and ensuring human well-being. The two-year period of the fight against coronavirus infection, the emergence of new severe strains, allowed us to improve existing and increase new competencies in the field of educational, scientific, advisory, methodological and therapeutic activities.
The "Virtual Clinical and Expert Center for Combating COVID-19" continues to solve its tasks. During the second year of the pandemic, more than 40 hospitals of the republic were connected to the "virtual consultation", more than 15,000 patients were consulted.
239 university teachers took an active part in providing advisory and diagnostic care, 42 of them worked in the "red zone". More than 2,700 students (students, residents, postgraduates) were sent by the University to help practical healthcare, of which 486 people worked in the "red zone", in the positions of secondary and junior medical personnel, 109 residents worked as trainee doctors. 1083 volunteers provided assistance to the population of the republic.
Kazan State Medical University has extensive experience in organizing work with young people and this is confirmed in various awards:
-it is one of the top three universities of the Republic of Tatarstan in the organization of patriotic work;
-"The best student medical unit of the Republic of Tatarstan 2021";
-students received the Grand Prix of the Regional Ethno-cultural Student Festival;
the nominee of the "Student of the Year of the Republic of Tatarstan 2021" award was the regional coordinator of "Medical Volunteers", a student of the Faculty of Medicine Anna Makarova; the winner in the nomination "Volunteer of the Year" was a student of the Faculty of Medicine Alimova Lilia
Our students, residents and postgraduates are the future of the university, we are sure that this future will be wonderful. According to the monitoring of the quality of admission to universities, we are among the TOP 25 universities in Russia in terms of the quality of admission.We select the best, but also our graduates are the best specialists. In 2021, we gave the country 1,490 graduates with secondary and higher professional education, doctors who completed residency programs, and young scientists who graduated from graduate school. I am sure that most of our graduates will multiply the glory of Kazan State Medical University in years and decades.

Since 1814, the tradition of reading Ceremonial speeches has continued at the university.
On May 13, 2022, the honorary right to make a Ceremonial speech was granted to the head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery of Kazan State Medical University, MD, Professor Leonid Mirolyubov.
After the completion of the speech, the head of Rospotrebnadzor M.A.Patyashina presented awards to Rector A.S. Sozinov and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Prevention F.V. Khuzikhanov.
The results of the competitions for "The best publication of a young scientist" and "The Best monograph" were summed up. For the first time, the winners of the "Best Inventor" competition were awarded. The winners were awarded by Rector A.S. Sozinov and Vice-rector D.I. Abdulganieva.
