V International Scientific and Practical Conference
On March 30-31, 2023, Kazan hosted the V International Scientific and Practical Conference “School of Epidemiologists: Theoretical and Applied Aspects of Epidemiology”, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Medicine Department of Kazan State Medical University and the 30th anniversary of the Service of Hospital Epidemiologists of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The organizers of the conference are the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan State Medical University, the Department of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing of the Republic of Tatarstan, the National Association of Specialists for the Control of Healthcare-Associated Infections, KSMA - Branch Campus of the FSBEIFPE RMACPE MOH Russia and the Nurses Association of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The conference was held in a blended format. At the plenary session, the Rector of the Kazan State Medical University, Professor Sozinov A.S., the Head of the Department of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing, Associate Professor Patyashina M.A., the Deputy Chairman of the National Association of Specialists for the Control of Healthcare-Associated Infections, Professor Kovalishena O.V. made welcoming speeches. 63 reports were heard from medical and educational institutions’ representatives from different Russian regions, as well as Belarus, India, Uzbekistan, and Japan.
Within the framework of the conference, a plenary session and 6 thematic sections were held, including a section for nurses “The role of a nurse in ensuring epidemiological safety and prevention of infectious diseases”.
The conference was attended by 2,226 specialists from Russia, Kazakhstan, Australia, Belarus, Ukraine, Japan and Uzbekistan. Among them are epidemiologists, disinfectologists, infectious disease specialists, dermatovenerologists, phthisiologists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, health care organizers, nurses, bacteriologists, virologists, microbiologists, specialists in clinical laboratory diagnostics, hygiene, health care organizers, general practitioners, therapists, forensic medical experts, pathologists, laboratory doctors and nursing staff.
They discussed the prevention of infections related to the provision of medical care, the development of a multidisciplinary approach and the development of a joint algorithm of actions within the framework of preventive and anti-epidemic measures, the provision of various types of medical care, immunization of the population, problems of socially significant infections, control of infectious processes.
