Uzbek – Russian International Medical Forum in Samarkand

On June 3 – 4, 2023, Uzbek – Russian International Medical Forum was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Alexey Sozinov, Rector of KSMU, took part in the forum as part of the Russian delegation headed by Minister of Health of Russia Mikhail Murashko.

Within the framework of Uzbek-Russian International Medical Forum, a cooperation agreement between Kazan State Medical University and Tashkent Medical Academy was signed.

This forum has become a new stage of cooperation between two countries. Several important issues related to the expansion of international medical cooperation were discussed there. Particularly, special attention was attached to the development of medical education within the bilateral cooperation between the countries. Today medical universities of Uzbekistan train specialists in bachelor's, master's and clinical residency in joint educational programs with Russian medical universities.

During two days of the Forum, more than 15 cooperation agreements were signed. This is the first joint event оf such dimensions in healthcare sector: more than 1,000 specialists took part in the forum, including more than 190 Russian scientists and clinicians.
