International Conference in Uzbekistan

Irina Kravchenko, Professor of the Infectious Diseases Department, presented Kazan State Medical University at a recent International Scientific and Practical Conference “Autumn School of Hepatology in Tashkent” that was held in Uzbekistan. The scientific forum brought together specialists from the USA, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Russia, Uzbekistan, India, Egypt, Pakistan, Azerbaijan and Armenia: they reported on the results of research into new methods of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of chronic viral hepatitis.  Irina Kravchenko made a presentation “Comorbidities in chronic hepatitis C. Prediction of the effectiveness of antiviral therapy”.

Professor’s agenda tour to Uzbekistan also included a visit to the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Centre of Epidemiology, Microbiology, Infectious and Parasitic Diseases. This visit took place at the invitation of Botir Tatjiyev, Director of the Centre, Chair of Infectious Diseases, Children’s Infections, Phthisiology and Pulmonology Department of Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute. There was also a meeting with Chair of Infectious and Children’s Infectious Diseases Department of Tashkent Medical Academy, Laziz Tuychiyev.

During the meeting the host party and guests discussed the possibility of international cooperation between the departments in the framework of joint projects, participation in conferences, educational and scientific internships.
